Elkie Chong (born November 2, 1998) is a talented singer and actress from Hong Kong. She is now based in mainland China. Before becoming a K-pop star, Elkie was a child actress in Hong Kong, appearing in many TV shows. She joined the South Korean girl group CLC in February 2016. Elkie left CLC and her company, Cube Entertainment, in February 2021 to focus on her solo career.

Elkie Chong was born in Hong Kong on November 2, 1998. She went to Carmel Pak U Secondary School.

Career Highlights

Early Acting Days (2009–2015)

Before joining CLC, Elkie was a popular young star in Hong Kong. She was part of a girl group called Honey Bees. She also worked as a child actress for TVB, a big TV station in Hong Kong. Elkie acted in almost 20 different TV dramas during this time.

Joining CLC and Solo Work (2016–2019)

In February 2016, Elkie became a new member of the K-pop girl group CLC. She joined along with another new member, Kwon Eun-bin. Elkie officially started her K-pop journey on February 29, 2016. This was when CLC released their third mini-album, Refresh. Her first public performance with the group was on a TV show called M Countdown.

Elkie also started acting in South Korean dramas. In March 2018, she appeared in the weekend drama Rich Family's Son. She played a Chinese exchange student named Mong Mong.

On November 23, 2018, Elkie released her first solo song, "I Dream." In 2019, she had a role in the Chinese drama A Little Thing Called First Love. She played Yang Man Ling, a student who worked at a radio station.

New Beginnings (2020–Present)

In December 2020, Elkie decided to end her contract with Cube Entertainment. She felt that the company had not followed their agreement. She also mentioned that she had not been paid for her acting work.

On February 3, 2021, Cube Entertainment announced that Elkie had left CLC. Her contract with the company was officially over. Elkie now lives and works in mainland China. She still keeps in touch with her former CLC group members. In June 2021, Elkie worked with actor Ji Li on a song called "Gave My Heart Away." She also released a solo song called "SPEED UP" in 2023.
