Ellie Mathews was born on October 22, 1945, in Port Angeles, Washington. She is a talented author who writes both fiction (made-up stories) and nonfiction (true stories). One of her most famous books is The Linden Tree, which won a special award called the 2007 Milkweed Editions Prize for Children’s Literature.
