The Elmvale Jungle Zoo is a fun place to visit in Springwater, Ontario, Canada. It's a special zoo that opens for part of the year. You can visit from late May, around the Victoria Day weekend, until early October, around Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

The Elmvale Jungle Zoo first opened its doors in 1967. A family named Persi bought the zoo in 1972 and still runs it today. When it first started, the zoo was only 2 acres big. It mainly showed reptiles and birds.
A Growing Home for Animals
Over the years, the zoo has grown a lot. It is now 25 acres in size, which is much bigger! The zoo is home to over 300 animals. These animals come from many different parts of the world. You can see creatures from places like South America, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
Visiting the Zoo
The zoo is located about 20 minutes north of Barrie. It is also very close to the town of Elmvale. Many schools enjoy taking field trips to the Elmvale Jungle Zoo. In fact, the zoo hosts about 150 school trips in June alone! It's a great place to learn about animals from around the globe.
