Emili Salut i Payà (born November 13, 1918 – died May 16, 1982) was a talented musician from Barcelona, Spain. He was known as a trumpeter and a composer, meaning he wrote music.

Emili Salut i Payà's Life Story
Emili Salut i Payà was born in Barcelona, a beautiful city in Spain. He loved music from a young age.
He went to the Municipal School of Barcelona to study music. There, he learned to play the violin and the piano. But his biggest dream was to write his own music. Later, he became very interested in the trumpet and took lessons to learn it. He even played in music groups in Barcelona until 1936.
In 1939, Emili traveled to the USSR (which is now Russia and other countries). While there, he studied to become a pilot. From 1940 to 1941, he was a musician in the Mijail Lipski Orchestra in Moscow.
In 1941, during a big war, he was held in difficult conditions for eight years. After he was released in 1948, he continued to study music. He married his first wife, Isida Filippova, and they had two daughters named Francesca and Violeta.
In 1957, Emili was able to return to Spain. He lived in Madrid and Barcelona. He worked at Radio Nacional de España, a national radio station, and also taught music at the Assimil Academy.
