Emilie de Ravin was born in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia. This is a suburb located near Melbourne. She has family roots from France.
She started studying ballet at age nine. She attended the Christa Cameron School of Ballet in Melbourne. Her mother taught her at home for some time. At fifteen, she was accepted into the Australian Ballet School. There, she performed in shows with The Australian Ballet. She also performed with Danceworld 301.
After her ballet training, she studied acting. She attended Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. She also trained at the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.
Acting Career
Emilie de Ravin's first big acting job was in the supernatural series Beastmaster. She played a character named Curupira.

Emilie de Ravin married actor Josh Janowicz on 19 June 2003 in Melbourne, Australia. They had been dating for three years before he proposed. They separated in 2009 and later divorced in 2014.
In 2014, Emilie de Ravin started a relationship with writer-director Eric Bilitch. They got engaged in 2016. They have three children together: two daughters born in March 2016 and August 2023, and a son born in December 2018.
