Emilie de Ravin (born December 27, 1981) is an actress from Australia. She became well-known for playing Tess Harding in the TV show Roswell from 2000 to 2002.

Later, she played Claire Littleton in the drama series Lost (2004–2008, 2010). She also starred as Belle in the fantasy adventure series Once Upon a Time (2011–2018). Emilie de Ravin has also been in movies like Brick (2005) and Remember Me (2010).

Early Life and Training

Emilie de Ravin was born in Mount Eliza, Victoria, Australia. This is a suburb located near Melbourne. She has family roots from France.

Emilie started learning ballet when she was nine years old. She studied at the Christa Cameron School of Ballet in Melbourne. Her mother also taught her at home. At fifteen, she was accepted into the Australian Ballet School. There, she performed in shows with The Australian Ballet.

She also studied acting. She attended Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. Later, she trained at the Prime Time Actors Studio in Los Angeles.

She then got the role of Tess Harding in the teen TV show Roswell. She played a character who was part alien and part human. In 2004, Emilie de Ravin was chosen to play Claire Littleton in the TV drama Lost. She said it's hard to know why a show becomes so successful. A year later, she had a main role as Brenda Carter in the movie The Hills Have Eyes. This film did very well at the box office. In 2007, she was cast in the film Ball Don't Lie. This movie was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2008. It came out in cinemas in early 2009.

She played Alyssa "Ally" Craig in the romantic drama film Remember Me. She starred alongside Robert Pattinson. The movie was released on March 12, 2010. Remember Me earned $56 million around the world.

In 2015, she starred in the independent film The Submarine Kid.

Emilie de Ravin dated actor Josh Janowicz for three years. He proposed to her on New Year's Day in 2003 in Melbourne. She said it was "very impromptu and very sweet." She met Janowicz in Los Angeles. She believes that "our life together always comes before work."

The couple got married on June 19, 2003, in Melbourne, Australia. They separated for a short time after their wedding but then got back together. In June 2009, news reports said they were living apart. They had filed for divorce. However, in October 2009, she stopped the divorce after a trip to Japan with her husband.

On July 8, 2014, Emilie de Ravin filed for divorce from Janowicz. Court papers showed they were married on June 19, 2003. They separated on November 1, 2013.

In 2014, Emilie de Ravin started a relationship with writer and director Eric Bilitch. They announced their engagement on July 6, 2016. They have three children together. Their first daughter was born in March 2016. Their son was born in December 2018. Their second daughter was born in August 2023.
