About Emis Killa's Early Life
Emiliano Giambelli was born in Vimercate, a town in Lombardy, Italy. His mother was from Palermo, Sicily, and worked with metal. His father was also a musician. Emiliano's father passed away in 2010.
Emis Killa's Music Journey
Starting Out: 2007–2010
Emis Killa started his music career very young. In 2007, when he was only 17 years old, he won a big Italian freestyle competition called TecnichePerfette. This win helped him get noticed.
He then worked with an independent music company called Blocco Recordz. With them, he released his first mixtape, Keta Music, in 2009. The next year, in 2010, he released an album called Champagne e Spine.
Growing Popular: 2011–2012
In 2011, Emis Killa released another mixtape, The Flow Clocker vol. 1. This was followed by his album L'erba cattiva in 2012.
One of his songs from L'erba cattiva was "Parole di ghiaccio" (which means "Cold words"). The music video for this song became super popular online. It got 7.5 million views on YouTube in less than two weeks! In just three months, it reached 20 million views, which was a record for Italian music videos at the time.
New Albums and Collaborations
On July 12, 2013, Emis Killa released a song called "Vampiri". This song was a preview of his second studio album, Mercurio. The music video for "Vampiri" came out a few days later and was also very successful.
In 2020, Emis Killa teamed up with another rapper, Jake La Furia. They released an album together called 17 on September 18, 2020.
Future Plans: 2024 and Beyond
Looking ahead, Emis Killa was announced as one of the artists who will perform at the Sanremo Music Festival 2025 in December 2024. This is a very famous music festival in Italy.

- On May 5, 2012, he won "Best emerging artist of 2012" at the TRL awards.
- On December 12, 2012, he won two awards at the Hip Hop Awards. He won "Best New Artist" and also "Best Collaboration" for his song "Se il mondo fosse" with other artists like Club Dogo, J-Ax, and Marracash.
- In January 2015, his album Mercurio was nominated for the European Independent Album of the Year Award by IMPALA.
