Emma went to two universities, Monash University and RMIT. She studied about the environment and planning. After her studies, she worked for over eight years helping to plan cities and towns for the government in Victoria.

Sports Achievements

Before becoming a famous cook, Emma was also a talented athlete. She trained in track cycling at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. This was part of a program to find new sports stars. Emma even became a champion in a 500-meter race. She also represented Australia in a big cycling competition in 2004.

Winning the Competition

On September 1, 2013, Emma Dean won the fifth season of MasterChef Australia. In the final challenge, Emma competed against another contestant named Lynton Tapp. They had to recreate a very difficult dessert called Plight of the Bees. This dessert was created by a famous chef, Ben Shewry.

As the winner of MasterChef, Emma received some amazing prizes. She won $100,000 and the chance to work in some of Australia's best kitchens. She also received a new car.
