Emma Wooge's Early Life and Training

Emma Wooge loved music from a young age. She studied with two important teachers, Eduard Behm and Richard J. Eichberg. These lessons helped her become a skilled musician.

Emma Wooge's Singing Career

Emma Wooge was a mezzo-soprano singer. This means she had a lower female singing voice. From 1880 to 1882, she sang at the Hamburg State Opera.

In 1882, she sang in a special concert. It was for the "Brahms Requiem," a famous piece by Johannes Brahms. Emma met Brahms during this time in Hamburg.

After Hamburg, Emma moved to Darmstadt in 1883. She sang at the Hoftheater there for two years. Then, she moved to the Leipzig municipal theatre. She worked in Leipzig from August 18, 1885, to July 1, 1886.

Emma Wooge as a Teacher

After her singing career, Emma Wooge moved to Berlin. She became a singing teacher there. She taught music to others until she passed away.
