Encinal is the smallest of the six villages that belong to the Laguna Pueblo. It is located right at the base of a large mountain called Mount Taylor. In 2020, about 207 people lived in Encinal.

Encinal is found in the northeastern part of Cibola County. It is about 5 miles (8 km) northeast of a town called Cubero. You can also find it about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Exit 104 on Interstate 40.
A cool natural landmark near Encinal is Picacho Peak. People who live there often call it Elephant Rock. This big rock formation is about 2 miles (3 km) west of the village.
