Encinasola is located in the southwest of Spain. The village itself sits about 431 meters (1,414 feet) above sea level. The entire municipality covers an area of 177.76 square kilometers (68.63 square miles).
Border with Portugal
The municipality of Encinasola shares a border with the Portuguese town of Barrancos. The exact details of the border between Spain and Portugal in this area were officially decided in a special agreement. This agreement, called the 1926 Convention of Limits, helped settle the border around towns like Moura, Barrancos, Encinasola, and Aroche.
Population Changes
Over the years, the number of people living in Encinasola has changed quite a bit. For example, by the 2010s, the population was much smaller than it used to be.
