Eno Raud (born February 15, 1928 – died July 10, 1996) was a famous Estonian writer. He wrote many wonderful books for children. His stories are loved by kids and families in Estonia and other countries. Many people consider his books to be classics. Eno Raud was even honored by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in 1974.

His Early Life and Writing Journey

Eno Raud was born in Tartu, Estonia. His father, Mart Raud, was also a writer. Eno studied the Estonian language and literature at the University of Tartu in 1952.

After finishing his studies, he worked at the National Library of Estonia from 1952 to 1956. Then, he worked at the Estonian State Publishing House until 1965. After that, he decided to focus only on writing. He became a full-time writer and created many beloved stories. He passed away in Haapsalu when he was 68 years old.
