A Look Back: The History of Enochs
Enochs started growing in the early 1920s. It became a place where people could trade goods. In 1940, it was at its busiest, with about 250 people living there. There were five businesses open then.
By 1980, the number of people living in Enochs went down to 164. It stayed around that number in 1990. In 2000, Enochs had 80 residents and three businesses.
Where is Enochs? The Geography
Enochs is located in the southern part of Bailey County. You can find it where two roads meet: State Highway 214 and FM 54.
It's about three miles north of the Cochran County border. Enochs is also 12 miles south of a place called Needmore. It's about 25 miles (40 km) west of Littlefield and 63 miles (101 km) northwest of Lubbock.
