Enrique Bradfield facts for kids

Enrique Antonio Bradfield Jr. is a talented American baseball player. He plays as an outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles team. He was born on December 2, 2001.

High School Baseball

Enrique went to American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. He played baseball there. In July 2019, he played in a special High School All-Star Game. During his last year of high school in 2020, he was a great hitter. He hit for a .367 average, had one home run, and stole five bases.

College Baseball Career

After high school, Enrique was not chosen in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft. So, he decided to go to Vanderbilt University to play college baseball.

Freshman Year Success

Enrique started playing for Vanderbilt right away in 2021. He played in 67 games. He hit for a .336 average and stole 47 bases. This was the most stolen bases in the entire NCAA! He was named the best freshman player in the Southeastern Conference. He also won a Gold Glove award for his excellent defense.

Sophomore and Junior Seasons

In 2022, Enrique continued to be Vanderbilt's main center fielder. He was again named to the All-SEC team for his great play. He hit eight home runs and stole 46 bases that year. After the season, he joined the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. He also played in a summer league called the Cape Cod Baseball League. In 2023, his junior year, Enrique hit six home runs and stole 37 bases for Vanderbilt.

Professional Baseball Career

Joining the Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles chose Enrique with the 17th pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. On July 17, 2023, he officially signed with the Orioles. He received a bonus of $4.17 million.

First Professional Games

Enrique started his professional career with the Florida Complex League Orioles. He also played for the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Aberdeen IronBirds. In 25 games across these teams, he hit for a .291 average. He also stole 25 bases, showing off his speed.

Moving Up the Ranks

Enrique started the 2024 season with the Aberdeen IronBirds. In August, he was promoted to the Bowie Baysox. He played in 108 games that year. He hit four home runs and stole an amazing 74 bases!

Enrique returned to the Baysox, now called the Chesapeake Baysox, for the start of the 2025 season. He was chosen to represent the Orioles team in the 2025 All-Star Futures Game. In July, he had to take a break from playing due to a hamstring injury.

Personal Life

Enrique's father, Enrique Sr., also played college baseball. He played at St. Thomas University.
