Enrique Guzmán is a famous singer and actor from Mexico, born on February 1, 1943, in Venezuela. He is known as one of the first artists to bring Rock & Roll music to Mexico. He helped start the rock and roll movement there alongside other stars like César Costa and Angélica María. Enrique Guzmán is also the father of the well-known Mexican singer Alejandra Guzmán. Her mother is the actress and singer Silvia Pinal.

Early Life and Music Career
Enrique Guzmán was born in Venezuela, but his parents were from Mexico. When he was seven years old, his family moved back to Mexico. He went to school there and later studied medicine at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. However, he decided to follow his passion for music instead of finishing his medical studies.
Becoming a Rock Star
Enrique Guzmán became a big rock star in Mexico during the second half of the 1900s. He was especially famous for singing popular 1950s rock songs in Spanish. For example, he made a Spanish version of "Jailhouse Rock".
In 1958, he joined a music group called "Los Teen Tops." The group included the Martínez brothers and a piano player named Sergio Martel. They became very popular. In 1959, they performed in the United States on CBS radio. They also released their famous Spanish version of "Good Golly Miss Molly," which they called "La Plaga." Enrique Guzmán also wrote many hit songs for himself, like "Pensaba en tí" and "La Ronchita." He also wrote songs for other Latin American singers.
Movies and Television
Besides singing, Enrique Guzmán also acted in movies. One of his films was Canta Mi Corazón in 1965. He had many hit songs, including Spanish versions of "Put Your Head on My Shoulder," "Rolly Polly," and "Bonnie Moronie." He also sang original songs like "Dame Felicidad" ("Give Me Joy").
In the mid-1960s, Enrique Guzmán started his own movie company. He produced some films in Ecuador. Later, in the late 1960s, he and his wife at the time, Silvia Pinal, had their own television show called Silvia y Enrique.
Continuing His Legacy
Enrique Guzmán has continued to record music for many years. He even recorded songs with his daughter, Alejandra Guzmán, in the 1990s and 2000s. His handprints are placed on the Paseo de las Luminarias, which is like a walk of fame for famous people. He was honored there in 1983 for his important work in the music industry. His ex-wife, his stepdaughter Sylvia Pasquel, and his daughter also have their handprints there.
Family Life
Enrique Guzmán's first wife was the Mexican actress Silvia Pinal. They had two children together: the singer Alejandra Guzmán and a musician named Luis Enrique Guzmán.
Enrique Guzmán is currently married to Rosalba Welter Portes Gil. She is the niece of actress Linda Christian and the granddaughter of a former Mexican president, Emilio Portes Gil. Enrique and Rosalba have two children together, Daniela and Jorge Guzmán. Daniela has also performed in theater shows and musicals.
