Eric Joseph Perrodin (born February 26, 1959) is an American politician. He served as the Mayor of Compton, California from 2001 to 2013. A mayor is the leader of a city government. They help make important decisions for the community.

Eric Perrodin grew up in the city of Compton, California. After finishing his studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills, he joined the Compton Police Department. He worked as a police officer for many years.
While working as an officer, he also went to Loyola Law School. There, he earned a special degree called a Juris Doctor. This degree allows someone to become a lawyer. After 12 years with the police department, Perrodin became a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County. This job involves working as a lawyer for the government.
Serving as Mayor of Compton
In 2001, Eric Perrodin ran for mayor of Compton. He won the election against the person who was already mayor, Omar Bradley. The person already in office is called the "incumbent."
Perrodin was re-elected two more times. He won again in 2005 and in 2009. This means he served as mayor for a total of 12 years. He is known for being the longest-serving mayor in Compton's history.
The 2013 Election
On June 4, 2013, Eric Perrodin ran for mayor again. However, he was defeated in the election. A new politician named Aja Brown won the race.
