Eric July (born April 17, 1990) is an American musician, YouTuber, and comic book writer. He is also known for sharing his ideas about politics and society. Eric July started his own comic book company called Rippaverse Comics in 2022.
He created Rippaverse Comics to give creators more freedom. He wanted to make new stories that fans would enjoy. Eric July also sings for the rap metal band BackWordz. Their music often talks about ideas like individual freedom. Before BackWordz, he was the lead singer for the band Fire from the Gods.

Eric July's Early Life
Eric July was born in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in a part of Dallas called Oak Cliff. When he was young, his parents separated. As a teenager, he faced some challenges.
Later, he moved to Arkansas to live with his grandmother. He then returned to Dallas. Eric July attended the University of Memphis on a scholarship for track and field. He later studied communications at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. During this time, he learned about new political ideas. He moved back to Dallas in March 2015.
Eric July's Music Journey
Eric July began performing music in Corpus Christi. He first used the name YG Ripple. He became part of the hardcore metal music scene there. He started by playing keyboards.
Later, he became the singer for the band Fire from the Gods. In late 2014, he formed his current band, BackWordz. He is also the singer for this band. In 2016, BackWordz signed with Stay Sick Recordings. This record label is run by Chris Fronzak. BackWordz is known for its unique style of music.
Eric July's Comic Books
In July 2022, Eric July launched his new company, Rippaverse Comics. He started by selling his first comic book, Isom, online. The campaign was very successful. It quickly raised much more money than its first goal.
By July 15, 2022, it had raised $1.7 million. By July 22, it reached $3 million. In May 2023, Rippaverse Comics announced new comics. These included Isom #2, Alphacore by Chuck Dixon, and Yaira by Jen and Sylvia Soska. The third comic book from Rippaverse was Goodyng, written by Mike Baron. It also raised a lot of money.
Eric July's Political Views
Eric July once supported Barack Obama in 2008. Now, he describes his political ideas differently. He wants people to think carefully about different topics. He helped start a group called Minorities Seeking Solutions.
This group aims to help young black males. It wants to empower them and help them succeed. Eric July also shares his thoughts on the Blaze TV network. He discusses cultural trends and other important issues.
