Early Life and High School Soccer
Eric grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He started playing soccer when he was eight years old. His parents wanted him to play soccer instead of American football.
At Kirkwood High School, Eric was a star soccer player for four years. He set amazing records for goals scored. He scored 5 goals in one game, 40 goals in a season, and 87 goals in his whole high school career! In his final year, he was named an All-American. He was also the top offensive player in Missouri for high school soccer. Besides soccer, Eric also played basketball and ran track and field.
College Soccer Career
After high school, Eric played college soccer. From 2014 to 2015, he played for the Xavier Musketeers. He played in 35 games and scored 2 goals for them.
Later, from 2016 to 2017, he played for the Kansas City Roos. Playing college soccer helped him improve his skills before becoming a professional player.
Professional Club Career
Eric McWoods has played for several professional soccer clubs around the world.
Playing for Narva Trans
In January 2019, Eric joined Narva Trans, a team in Estonia. This was a big step in his professional career.
During his first season, he helped Narva Trans win the Estonian Cup in 2018–19. This is an important tournament in Estonia. On July 21, 2019, Eric scored three goals in one game, which is called a hat-trick. This helped his team win 3–2 against Tulevik. Because of his great performance in July, he was named the Player of the Month for the 2019 Meistriliiga season.
Winning the Estonian Cup also meant that Eric and Narva Trans got to play in the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League. This is a big European club competition. They played against Budućnost from Montenegro in the first round. Narva Trans lost the two-game series with a total score of 6–1.
Moving to Hungary and Malta
In January 2020, Eric moved to Hungary. He joined ZTE, a team in the top Hungarian league called the NB I.
Later in 2020, Eric moved to Malta. He signed with Balzan, a team in the Maltese Premier League.
Playing in Jordan and Ireland
After a short time playing in Jordan for Al-Aqaba, Eric moved to Ireland. In 2022, he joined Finn Harps to play in the League of Ireland Premier Division. He played 25 games and scored 5 goals for the team.
Joining Sandviken in Sweden
On March 2, 2023, Eric McWoods signed with Sandviken, a soccer team in Sweden. He continued his career playing in different countries.
