Eric C. Williams (born July 17, 1972) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 12 years, from 1995 to 2007. During his career, he played for seven different teams, including two times with the famous Boston Celtics.

Eric Williams' Basketball Journey

Eric Williams started his college basketball career at Burlington County College in New Jersey. He then played for two years at Vincennes University in Indiana. After that, he moved to Providence College in Rhode Island.

Joining the NBA

In 1995, Eric was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 1995 NBA draft. He was the 14th player picked overall. This was a big moment for the 6-foot-8-inch tall player, who usually played as a small forward.

He played for the Celtics for two years. Then, in 1997, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets. Unfortunately, he had a tough time with the Nuggets. He tore a ligament in his right knee, which is a serious injury. This meant he could only play in four games during the 1997–98 season.

Returning to Boston and Other Teams

After his injury, Eric returned to play for the Nuggets in the next season. He played in 38 games before being traded back to the Boston Celtics. He stayed with the Celtics for more than four seasons.

Later, in 2003, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. After playing 50 games with the Cavaliers, he became a free agent. This means he could sign with any team he wanted. He then joined the New Jersey Nets for the 2004–05 season.

Eric was part of a big trade when the Nets sent him to the Toronto Raptors. He also played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2006 and the Charlotte Bobcats in 2007. He finished his NBA career in 2007.
