Erich Gonzales' Acting Journey

Starting Out: Star Circle Quest and Early Roles (2004-2008)

Erich's career began when she won the second season of Star Circle Quest in 2005. This made her a "Grand Questor." After her win, she joined Star Magic, a training program for new talents at ABS-CBN.

Erich soon became a familiar face on TV. She appeared in many shows as a supporting actress. One of her early roles was Dorina in the popular TV series Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. She also played Waling-Waling in the teen show Abt Ur Luv. Later, she was Ella in the drama series Pieta. Erich showed her acting skills as Camille in Sana Maulit Muli. In this show, she acted alongside Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu.

Becoming a Star: The Katorse Breakthrough (2009)

Erich Gonzales became very famous in 2009. This happened when she played the main character in Katorse. This TV show was based on a 1980 film. She starred with Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon, and Xian Lim. Katorse became a top-rated show and was praised by critics. This success made Erich a big star. She was even called the "Breakthrough Star of 2009" by the TV show The Buzz.

In the same year, Erich also made her first movie. It was an independent film called Paano Ko Sasabihin?. She starred with her frequent co-star, Enchong Dee. The movie was part of the 2009 Cinema One Originals Film Festival. It also won several awards there.

Expanding Her Career: New Roles and Movies (2010-2011)

After the success of Katorse, Erich got another main role in 2010. This was in the TV series Tanging Yaman. She worked again with Enchong Dee and Ejay Falcon. This series was part of ABS-CBN's celebration of Filipino soap operas. While Tanging Yaman was still on air, Erich started working on her third series, Magkaribal. This show was highly praised. It is known as the "Philippines' First Fashionserye" because it focused on fashion.

After two successful TV series, Erich signed a special two-year contract with Star Cinema. This meant she would star in more movies. Later that year, Erich and Enchong Dee, a popular on-screen couple, starred in their first major movie. It was called I Do and was produced by Star Cinema. She also played the lead role in the independent film Noy with Coco Martin. This movie was chosen to represent the Philippines at the 83rd Academy Awards.

In 2010, Erich also became one of the main hosts of Shoutout!. This was a variety show for young stars.

The Filipino version of Maria La Del Barrio was a big highlight for Erich in 2011. The series was very popular on Twitter. It trended both locally and worldwide. The show was so successful that it was extended twice.

In December 2011, Erich's independent film, Pinta*Kasi, was shown in cinemas. It was part of the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie won Best Picture in the New Wave Section. Her co-star, JM De Guzman, won Best Actor in the same category. The film was also invited to film festivals in Beijing and Hawaii.

The biggest news for Erich in 2011 came in October. It was announced that she would star with Thai actor Mario Maurer. The movie was called Suddenly It's Magic.

In March 2017, Erich became the new brand ambassador for MySlim. This is a popular slimming drink in the Philippines.

Big Success: Movies and TV Hits (2012-Present)

Maria la del Barrio ended successfully in March 2012. Soon after, another of Erich's independent movies was released. She starred in a horror film called Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang with Derek Ramsay. The movie was very popular with audiences. It earned seven million pesos on its first day. This made it the "Highest Grossing Digital Film." Because of this, Star Cinema gave Erich the title "Philippine Box Office Queen for Digital Independent Film."

In May 2012, Erich began working on a big project, Suddenly It's Magic. This movie was with Thai actor Mario Maurer and was produced by Star Cinema. It was the first movie made together by Filipino and Thai production teams and actors. The film was released in the Philippines on October 31, 2012. It was later shown in Thailand and Cambodia.

The end of 2012 was very busy for Erich. She visited Canada in August for the TFC Liga Kapamilya Basketball Finals. She performed for crowds in Oshawa, Ontario, and Burnaby, British Columbia. On November 3, she entertained fans in Los Angeles for the Star Magic 20 Tour. Erich ended her year with her fourth independent film, Mariposa: Sa Hawla ng Gabi.

After successful pairings with Enchong Dee and Mario Maurer, Erich returned to primetime TV. She joined Juan dela Cruz, a big TV series for ABS-CBN in 2013. She was paired again with Coco Martin, her co-star from Noy. The show became number one in national TV ratings on its first episode.

In 2014, Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee reunited for a movie called Once a Princess. It was directed by Laurice Guillen. Erich took on a challenging role in the TV series Two Wives.
