Esmé Mary Evelyn Currey (born March 1881 – died June 1973) was a British artist. She was very well-known for her amazing printmaking and her lovely paintings.

Esmé Currey was born in Kensington, a part of London, England. She received a private education both in London and in Dresden, Germany. After her studies abroad, she returned to London to continue her art education.
Her Artistic Journey
Esmé first studied at the famous Slade School of Fine Art in London. Later, she traveled to Melbourne, Australia, to learn from the artist Max Meldrum. When she came back to London, she focused on engraving at Goldsmiths' College. Engraving is a special way of making prints.
Her Art and Exhibitions
Esmé Currey set up her own art studio in London. She created many different types of art. She drew pictures with pencils, made etchings (a type of print), and painted using a technique called tempera. Her artworks often showed beautiful landscapes and interesting buildings.
Esmé's art was shown in many places. She exhibited her work at the Royal Academy in London for many years, from 1910 to 1949. She also showed her art with groups like the Society of British Artists and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. In 1929, her art was even displayed at the famous Paris Salon in France. Today, the British Museum in London keeps two of her prints in its collection.
