Her Education and Career
Esther studied at the University of Barcelona. She focused on subjects like philosophy, literature, and history. After her studies, she taught literature and history for several years. She worked at the Carillo Academy.
Later, she became the director of Lumen, a publishing house in Barcelona. This meant she helped decide which books would be published.
Her Books
Esther Tusquets published her first novel in 1978. It was called El mismo mar de todos los veranos, which means The Same Sea as Every Summer. This book was the first part of a series of three novels.
The next book in the series was El amor es un juego solitario (Love is a Solitary Game). It came out in 1979. The final book was Varada tras el último naufragio (Stranded), published in 1980. In these novels, Esther Tusquets explored deep feelings and relationships. She also looked at how language shapes our lives.
Later Life
Esther Tusquets lived with Parkinson's disease for several years. She passed away in Barcelona on July 23, 2012. She was 75 years old.
