Etna is a former railroad station located in Lincoln County, Nevada. It is known today as a ghost town, meaning it's a place where people used to live but don't anymore.

What Was Etna?

Etna was once a small community that grew up around a railroad station. In 1941, only 14 people lived there. These residents were the owners of the nearby Tennille ranch.

Etna's Last Days

The last people living in Etna moved away in the late 1970s. The buildings that made up the community were taken down in the early 1990s. Today, not much is left of the original settlement.

Where is Etna Located?

The site of Etna is in a quiet part of Nevada. It is just north of a place called the Narconon Rainbow Canyon Retreat. You can find it along Nevada State Route 317.

Exploring Etna Cave

Close to where Etna used to be, there is a special place called Etna Cave. This cave is famous for its ancient rock art. Rock art includes drawings or carvings made by people long ago on cave walls or rocks. It gives us clues about how ancient people lived.
