The Eubranchus rubeolus is a tiny sea slug. It is a type of nudibranch, which is a colorful mollusc found in the ocean. This amazing creature belongs to the family called Eubranchidae.
You can find this specific sea slug in the waters of southeastern Australia. It also lives near the South Island of New Zealand.
Where it Lives
This sea slug was first found and described in 1964. It was discovered near Point Lonsdale, which is close to Port Phillip Heads in Victoria, Australia.
Scientists have also reported seeing Eubranchus rubeolus in New Zealand. However, there are some differences between the sea slugs found in Australia and those in New Zealand. This means they might be slightly different types, or even separate species. More study is needed to be sure!
