Eugène Gigout (born March 23, 1844 – died December 9, 1925) was a famous French organ player and composer. He wrote a lot of music, especially for the organ, in the late Romantic style.

About Eugène Gigout
Eugène Gigout was born in Nancy, France. He later passed away in Paris.
He was a student of the well-known composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Gigout worked as the main organist at the Saint-Augustin Church in Paris for an amazing 62 years!
A Talented Teacher and Composer
Gigout was not only a great organist but also a respected teacher. Many students learned from him. He also wrote many high-quality musical pieces.
People knew him for being an expert at improvising music on the spot. He even started his own music school. His nephew, Leon Boëllmann, also became a talented organist and composer. Sadly, Boëllmann died at a very young age.
Famous Musical Works
Gigout's most famous pieces are from his collection called 10 pièces pour orgue (10 pieces for organ), written in 1890.
The Toccata in B minor
His best-known work is the Toccata in B minor. This piece is often played as an extra song at the end of organ concerts. It's a very exciting and popular piece.
