Eugent Bushpepa (born July 2, 1984), also known as Gent Bushpepa, is a singer, songwriter, and composer from Albania. He is one of the most popular rock musicians in the Albanian-speaking world. People know him for his strong voice, powerful singing, exciting live shows, and his amazing guitar skills.
Eugent Bushpepa and his band have opened for famous rock groups. They supported Deep Purple in 2007, Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses in 2011, and Overkill in 2014. On August 18, 2013, he performed a full concert with Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, who was also a guitarist for Guns N' Roses.
In 2017, Bushpepa won the 56th Festivali i Këngës music competition with his song "Mall". This win meant he would represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal. He finished in eleventh place in the grand final. This was Albania's fourth-best result ever in the contest.

Early Life and Music Journey
Eugent Bushpepa was born on July 2, 1984, in Rrëshen, Albania. He started singing when he was six years old. He began learning guitar in the fifth grade of primary school. After high school, he moved to Bologna, Italy, to study medicine. He finished his first year there.
Bushpepa's professional music career began in 2006. He became well-known in Albania with his song "Maska e Madhështisë" in 2007. He also performed with a rock band called Sunrise. Even though he first performed on stage at age fourteen, his career really took off when he returned to Albania in 2006. He was studying dentistry but also started performing live in clubs. He has written his own songs and performed in over 2000 live shows.
He was asked to open for Duff McKagan's band, Loaded, in Tirana on June 1, 2011. At a beer festival in Korçë on August 18, 2013, Bushpepa performed with Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. In 2014, he joined the band Darkology as their tour singer. He toured with them and other bands like Overkill in many cities across Europe.
Eurovision Success
In 2017, Bushpepa became an adviser on The Voice of Albania. On December 24, 2017, he won the 56th edition of Festivali i Këngës. This is Albania's oldest music competition. Winning meant he would represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal. His winning song was "Mall".
The Eurovision version of "Mall" was updated by Bushpepa and Jim Lowe. Jim Lowe is a British audio engineer who has won a Grammy Award. The song was released on April 16, 2018. Bushpepa's promotional tour for Eurovision included stops in Amsterdam and Madrid.
Albania was chosen to compete third in the first semi-final. Bushpepa performed "Mall" and qualified for the Grand Final. He was one of the top ten acts voted through. In the final, his song was performed twelfth. It ranked seventh with the juries and eleventh overall when combined with public votes.
In 2023, Bushpepa started a podcast called "Garage Lock." He hosts it with fellow rock singer Renis Gjoka.

Eugent Bushpepa has not released a full album yet. He calls himself a "non-commercial artist." He has said he is working on his first album because his fans have asked for it.
