Early Life and Music Journey
Eugent Bushpepa was born on July 2, 1984, in Rrëshen, Albania. His family was Albanian and Roman Catholic. He started singing when he was just six years old. He began learning to play the guitar in fifth grade. After high school, he moved to Bologna, Italy, to study medicine, where he completed his first year.
Bushpepa's professional music career began in 2006. He quickly became well-known in Albania. His big break came with the song "Maska e Madhështisë" in 2007. He also performed with a rock band called Sunrise at the same competition.
Even though he first performed on stage at age fourteen, his career really took off when he returned to Albania in 2006. While studying dentistry, he started performing live in clubs and pubs. He writes his own songs and has performed over 2000 live shows.

In 2017, Bushpepa became an adviser on The Voice of Albania. On December 24, 2017, he won the 56th Festivali i Këngës. This is Albania's longest-running music competition. Winning it meant he would represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
His song for Eurovision was "Mall". He worked with Jim Lowe, a Grammy Award-winning audio engineer, to create the Eurovision version. The song was released by Universal Music in April. Eugent traveled to Amsterdam and Madrid for his promotional tour.
