Eugène Martin (born March 24, 1915, died October 12, 2006) was a French racing driver. He is known for taking part in two Formula One World Championship races in 1950. He did not score any championship points in these races.

A French Racing Legend

Eugène Martin was a skilled driver who raced in many important events. He was especially well-known for his races before World War II.

Early Racing Days

In 1949, Eugène Martin won the first Grand Prix race held at the Aix les Bains Circuit du Lac. He drove a special car called a Jicey-BMW. This car was designed by Jean Caillas.

Building His Own Car

In the 1950s, Eugène Martin decided to try building cars himself. He owned a garage in Paris with his father. There, they created a car called the Martin-Spéciale. This car was shown at the 1952 Paris Motor Show. However, it was never made in large numbers for people to buy.

Later Life

Eugène Martin was one of the last drivers from his early racing days to still be alive. He passed away in 2006 at a hospital near his home in La Rochelle, France.
