Eureka, Washington facts for kids
Eureka is a small, quiet place in Walla Walla County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It's called an unincorporated community because it doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it's part of the larger county area.
History of Eureka
The community of Eureka started to be laid out in 1904. It got its name from a nearby area called Eureka Flat.
Before phones and emails, a post office was a really important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. A post office for Eureka was first opened in 1889. It served the community for many years, helping people connect with others, until it closed in 1964.
