Eva Dahr was born in Oslo, Norway, on October 30, 1958. She loved movies and storytelling. To learn more about filmmaking, she studied at Volda University College in Norway. She also went to the Bela Balaz studio in Budapest, Hungary. This helped her become a skilled director.

Her Work in Film

Eva Dahr made many short films. These are movies that are usually much shorter than regular feature films. She was also the main director for a TV drama series called Himmelblå, which aired from 2008 to 2010.

In 2009, Eva Dahr directed the film The Orange Girl. This movie was based on a popular book called Appelsinpiken by the author Jostein Gaarder. She also worked with her sister, actress Juni Dahr, on two short films. These were Dolce Vita in 1989 and Troll in 1991.

Awards and Recognition

Eva Dahr won many awards for her films, both in Norway and around the world. For her short film En mann (1997), she received an Amanda Award. This is one of the most important film awards in Norway. She also won a Gullstolen (Golden Chair) at the Kortfilmfestivalen i Grimstad, which is a well-known short film festival.
