The Evans River is a small river located in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. It's only about 8 kilometers (5 miles) long, making it a short but interesting waterway.

Where the Evans River Flows

This river begins its journey high up in the Southern Alps, near a place called Mount O'Shanessy. The Southern Alps are a huge mountain range that runs along the South Island. The river starts in the Kaimata Range, which is part of these big mountains.

From its source, the Evans River flows first towards the north-west. Then, it turns and flows towards the south-west. It eventually joins another river called the Crooked River. The Crooked River then continues on for a few more kilometers before it flows into Lake Brunner. Lake Brunner is a large and well-known lake in the area.

Important Note About the River

It's good to know that the Evans River flows through land that is privately owned. This means it's not always open for public access.
