Early Life and Education
Evelyn Stevens was born in Claremont, California. She grew up in Acton, Massachusetts. There she went to Acton-Boxborough Regional High School.
She later studied at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. She was also a member of the college's tennis team.
After college, Evelyn moved to New York City in 2005. She worked in finance for a few years. In July 2009, she decided to leave her job. She wanted to become a full-time cyclist.
Cycling Career Highlights
Evelyn Stevens became a professional cyclist in 2010. She quickly showed her talent. She competed in many important races around the world.
She raced at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She finished 24th in the women's road race.
In 2016, Evelyn set a new Hour record for women. This means she rode her bike the farthest distance in one hour. She rode 47.980 kilometers (about 29.8 miles). This was a new world record at the time!
