The Exchange Tower is a very tall building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It stands 146 meters (about 479 feet) high and has 36 floors above the ground. This impressive tower was finished in 1981. It is part of a larger group of buildings called the First Canadian Place complex.
What is the Exchange Tower?
The Exchange Tower is named after the Toronto Stock Exchange. This is a very important place where parts of companies are bought and sold. The Toronto Stock Exchange is one of the main businesses that has offices inside this building. The tower was built on the spot where an older building, the William H. Wright Building, once stood.
Where is the Exchange Tower Located?
You can find the Exchange Tower right in the middle of Toronto's Financial District. This area is like the city's main business hub. Many banks and big companies have their offices here. The tower is located at the corner of King Street and York Street.
Who Works in the Exchange Tower?
Many different companies and organizations have offices in the Exchange Tower. For example, National Bank Financial has offices there. The federal Department of Justice also has offices in the building. Students at the University of Western Ontario's Ivey Business School attend classes at their Toronto campus inside the tower. In 2018, a big company called Restaurant Brands International moved its main office into the Exchange Tower.
