Eyal Golan (Hebrew: אייל גולן) is a very popular Israeli singer. He sings a type of music called Mizrahi music, which mixes traditional Middle Eastern sounds with pop. Many people think he is one of the most successful singers in Israel. He was born on April 12, 1971.

Early Life

Eyal Golan was born in Rehovot, Israel. His family has roots from both Morocco and Yemen. He grew up in the Kfar Marmorek neighborhood.

Music Career

Eyal Golan started singing in clubs when he was 20 years old. His first album was called Lehisha ba'Laila. This means "Whisper in the Night". It came out in 1995. In 1996, he released a live album called BeHofa'a Haya. This album included songs from famous Israeli singers.

In 1996, members of the band "Ethnix" were looking for a Mizrahi singer. They saw Eyal Golan perform and decided to work with him. They made three very successful albums together. These albums were Bila'adayikh (Without You) in 1997, Chayal shel Ahavah (Soldier of Love) in 1998, and Histakli Eilay (Look at Me) in 1999. They stopped working together in 2000.

Eyal Golan continued his solo career and became even more successful. In 2008, he released the album Hoze Otah Muli. This means "Imagining you facing me". In just two months, he sold over 145,000 copies! Because of this success, he performed many shows in Israel. He also toured in other countries. People who love world music enjoy his songs. Almost all of his studio albums have sold enough to become platinum albums.

In 2018, a singing competition show called Aviv or Eyal aired. On this show, Eyal Golan and another singer, Aviv Geffen, chose new talents. If both singers picked a contestant, the contestant would choose their mentor.

Production Career

Eyal Golan also helps other singers. He signed a singer named Yagel Oshri to his music label, Liam Productions, in 2023. Yagel Oshri released a song called "Not Always Right" with another musician, Offir Cohen. Later, Yagel Oshri released "Getting Out of Depression". This song became very popular in Israel.

Television: Eyal Golan Is Calling You

On February 20, 2011, Eyal Golan started a new TV show. It was a reality show on Israeli Music 24 channel. The show was called Eyal Golan Is Calling You. On the show, Eyal Golan looked for the next big Mizrahi music singer. He worked with other music experts to find new talent.

In the first season finale, Moran Mazor won the competition. The show came back for a second season. The winner of the second season was an Arab-Israeli singer named Nasreen Qadri.

Awards

In 1997, Eyal Golan won the "Performer of the Year" award. This award was given by Israeli Channel 2.

Personal Life

Eyal Golan has also played football as a semi-professional player. He played for different teams in lower leagues. He is good friends with Greek singer Nikos Vertis. They have even sung duets together in both Greek and Hebrew.

Eyal Golan has been married and has children. He married Ilanit Levi in 2002, and they had two children before divorcing in 2008. He later had another son with Ruslana Rodina. In 2020, he married Daniel Greenberg, and they have two children together.
