Fällanden is a town in Switzerland. It's located in the Canton of Zürich, which is like a state or region. Fällanden is part of the Uster district and sits in the Glatt Valley, also known as Glattal in German.

History of Fällanden

Fällanden has a long history! The town was first mentioned in old writings around the year 820. Back then, it was called Fenichlanda.

Fällanden covers an area of about 6.4 square kilometers (2.5 square miles). A large part of this land, about 40%, is used for farming. Forests cover almost 30% of the area.

About 26% of Fällanden is covered by buildings and roads. The rest of the land includes rivers and other natural areas. In 1996, buildings made up 20% of the town's total area. Roads and other transport areas made up 6.1%.
