Faakhir Mehmood (Urdu: فاخر محمود), born on April 20, 1973, is a talented Pakistani artist. He is known as a singer, keyboard player, composer, and music producer. He also acts! Faakhir started his music journey with a Pakistani band called Awaz. The band broke up in 2000, and its members, including Faakhir and Haroon, began their own solo careers.

Faakhir's Early Life and Music Start
Faakhir Mehmood went to the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. While he was there, he met another young singer named Haroon. In 1992, they decided to form a band together called Awaz. Faakhir played the keyboard, and Asad Ahmed played the guitar.
After the band Awaz split up in 2000, Faakhir decided to start his own solo music career. He began working on his first solo album, Aatish, in July 2000. His very first song as a solo artist was a national song called "Dil Na Lagay, Pakistan," which came out in August.
His first full album, Aatish, was released in 2002. He then released Sub Tun Sohniyeh in 2003, and Mantra in 2005.
In his album Mantra, Faakhir sang a duet called "Jiya Na Jaye" with Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan. Another song from that album, "Mahi Ve," even won two awards in India! Faakhir also performed at the award show.
Faakhir has performed live shows all over the world. He has shared his music in places like the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Of course, he has also performed in many parts of Pakistan. He has even performed with famous international musicians like Sukhbir and Stereo Nation.
In 2015, Faakhir helped produce the music for a Pakistani movie called Ho Mann Jahaan.
In 2016, Faakhir was one of the music directors for season 9 of Coke Studio Pakistan. This is a very popular TV show where musicians perform live. His first performance on the show was an unplugged version of "Afreen Afreen" by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He sang this song with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan. He also performed a traditional Pashto folk song called "Dilruba Na Raazi" with Zeb Bangash. Later, he sang "Dil Kamla" with Natasha Khan.
In 2017, Faakhir Mehmood shared his thoughts on important social topics. These comments were even reported by a major newspaper in Pakistan. Faakhir has also served as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organization. This means he helped promote health messages around the world.
