Faakhir Mehmood (born April 20, 1973) is a talented Pakistani artist. He is a singer, musician, and music producer. He also plays the keyboard and acts!
Faakhir began his music journey in 1992. He was part of a Pakistani music group called Awaz. The band included another famous musician, Haroon. Awaz broke up in 2000 because the members wanted to try different things. After that, Faakhir started his own solo music career.

Faakhir's Early Life and Music Journey
Faakhir went to the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore. While he was there, he met Haroon, another young singer. In 1992, they decided to form the band Awaz. Faakhir played the keyboard for the band. Asad Ahmed was the guitarist.
After Awaz split up in 2000, Faakhir started working on his own music. His first solo album was called Aatish, released in 2002. Before that, in August 2000, he released a national song, "Dil Na Lagay, Pakistan". He then released Sub Tun Sohniyeh in 2003. His album Mantra came out in 2005.
In Mantra, there is a song called "Jiya Na Jaye". Faakhir sang this song with Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan. Another song from Mantra, "Mahi Ve", won two awards. These awards were given at India's Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards. Faakhir also performed at that event.
Live Performances and Collaborations
Faakhir has performed his music all over the world. He has had live shows in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Of course, he has also performed in many parts of Pakistan.
He has shared the stage with international artists. These include Sukhbir and Stereo Nation from Europe.
In 2015, Faakhir helped produce the music for a Pakistani movie. The movie was called Ho Mann Jahaan.
In 2016, Faakhir was one of the music directors for Coke Studio Pakistan (season 9). His first appearance was with an unplugged version of "Afreen Afreen". Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan sang this song. He also performed a Pashto folk song, "Dilruba Na Raazi", with Zeb Bangash. Later, he sang "Dil Kamla" with Natasha Khan.
In 2017, Faakhir Mehmood spoke about important social issues. These comments were reported by a major newspaper in Pakistan. Faakhir has also served as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Organization. This means he helped promote good health around the world.
