Fairview Heights is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. It is located near St. Louis and is considered an eastern suburb of that larger city. In 2010, about 17,078 people lived there. Fairview Heights is known as a major shopping area for people in the Greater St. Louis region and Southern Illinois. It has many shopping centers, including the St. Clair Square mall.
