History of Fall Leaf

The community of Fall Leaf has a short but interesting history. In 1868, a post office was opened there. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office helped the people living in Fall Leaf stay connected to the rest of the country. However, it didn't stay open forever. The post office closed down in 1894, about 26 years after it first opened.

The name "Fall Leaf" comes from a Delaware chief. The Delaware people are a Native American tribe. Naming places after important leaders or features of the land was a common practice.
