Fangbone facts for kids
Fangbone is a super fun animated TV show from Canada! It was made by a Canadian company called Radical Sheep Productions Inc.. You could watch it on Disney XD Canada. The show is based on popular comic books by Michael Rex, which were even on the New York Times best-seller list! The first episode aired in March 2016, and the last one was in January 2017.
What is Fangbone About?
The story of Fangbone follows a nine-year-old barbarian warrior named Fangbone. He comes from a place called Skullbania. Fangbone suddenly lands in a third-grade class at Eastwood Elementary School! His big mission is to save his home land from a bad guy named Venomous Drool.
Fangbone gets help from his new friend, Bill. Bill is a kind, normal, and a bit goofy kid. Together, they fight off Fangbone's enemies. At the same time, Fangbone learns all about the modern world, which is very different from Skullbania!
When Did Fangbone First Air?
A special first episode, called a pilot, for the Fangbone series was shown on Disney XD Canada in 2014. After that, the company started making a whole first season of the show. This first season officially started airing in March 2016 in North America.
Awards and Recognition
Even before the full series began, the Fangbone pilot episode won many cool awards!
- It won "Best One-Off Or Special" at the 2015 Kidscreen Awards.
- It also won "Best Animated Writing" from the 2015 Writer's Guild Of Canada Awards.
- The show was named "Best TV Show Ages 9-14" at the 2015 Youth Media Alliance Awards.
Fangbone was also nominated for "Best Animated Series" at the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards, which is a big honor!
