Farkhondeh Torabi (born in March 1965 in Tehran, Iran) is a famous Iranian director who makes amazing animated films. She is known around the world for her creative and award-winning animations.

Career
Her Journey into Animation
Farkhondeh Torabi first studied psychology at the Alzahra University in Tehran during the 1980s. In 1988, she joined a special place called IIDCYA (also known as Kanoon). This organization helps children and young adults learn about culture and arts. There, she learned all about making animations from a skilled teacher named Vajihollah Fard-Moghaddam.
Torabi even helped as an assistant director on Fard-Moghaddam's film, Lili Hosak. This film was very successful and won many awards from different countries.
Making Her Own Films
Farkhondeh Torabi started making her own short animated films in 1991. Since then, she has created several short animations. Many of these films have won awards from around the world!
Her most famous film so far is Shangoul and Mangoul, which came out in 2000. This animation was shown at many big film festivals. Some of these included Cannes Junior in France, the International Festival of Cartoon Film of Annecy, and Cineanima in Portugal. It was also shown at festivals in Cairo (Egypt), Chicago (USA), Leipzig (Germany), and Vancouver (Canada). This shows how popular her work became internationally.
