Farley Flex (born Farley Fridal on August 9, 1962) is a well-known media expert, music promoter, and artist manager. He helps musicians become famous and also inspires people with his talks. Many people know him as a judge from the popular TV show Canadian Idol.

Farley Flex's Story

Early Life

Farley Flex was born in London, England. His parents came from the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

His Career Journey

Farley Flex played a big part in starting FLOW 93.5 radio station in Toronto. This station was the first in Canada to play mostly urban music, like R&B and hip-hop. It started broadcasting in 2001. Farley was the first Music Director and Vice President of Business Development there.

Because of his success in managing artists and working in radio, the people who made Canadian Idol chose him as a judge. He joined the show before it started in 2003.

Farley Flex has received many awards for his work. These include the Bob Marley Day Award in 2009 and a Harry Jerome Award in 2007. He also won awards from the Urban Music Association of Canada. He was even added to the Scarborough Walk of Fame.

Farley also started a non-profit group called R.E.A.L. School. This group helps young people from different communities learn important life skills. He believes that being famous helps him make a bigger positive impact.

Managing Artists

Farley Flex was the first manager for Maestro Fresh Wes. Maestro Fresh Wes was one of Canada's first famous rappers. Farley has also helped many singers who were on Canadian Idol. He worked to promote their music, including artists like Gary Beals and Toya Alexis.

In 1994, Farley Flex was featured in a documentary film. The film was called Make Some Noise and was made by Andrew Munger.

Current Work

Today, Farley Flex runs a restaurant called FUSE Restaurant Entertainment Emporium. It is located in the historic Corktown area. The restaurant serves food from all over the world and also has live music and shows.
