Faustino Rupérez Rincón was born on July 29, 1956. He is a former professional cyclist from Spain. He raced bikes from 1979 to 1985. Faustino is best known for winning the 1980 Vuelta a España, a very important bike race.
He also placed 4th in the 1979 Vuelta a España. In 1981, he won the Volta a Catalunya. He finished 2nd in the 1984 Tour of the Basque Country, right behind Sean Kelly.
After he stopped racing, Rupérez became a directeur sportif. This means he was like a team manager for the Spanish national cycling team.
