Fayette Regina Pinkney (born January 10, 1948 – died June 27, 2009) was a talented American singer. She was one of the very first members of the famous music group The Three Degrees. She helped shape their sound and success.
Becoming a Music Star
Fayette Pinkney was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1963, when she was just a teenager, she joined two other young singers. Their manager, Richard Barrett, brought them together. This was the start of The Three Degrees.
Fayette was a key part of the group for many years. She sang on their biggest hits. These included popular songs like "When Will I See You Again" and "Take Good Care of Yourself." She traveled with the group and performed on many stages.
In 1976, Fayette left The Three Degrees. A few years later, in 1979, she recorded her own album. It was called One Degree. She recorded it in London in just two weeks. Many people praised her solo work.
Life After the Group
After her music career, Fayette continued her education. She earned a degree in psychology from Temple University. Later, she got a master's degree in human services from Lincoln University in 1984.
She then worked as a counselor, helping people. She also became a vocal coach, teaching others how to sing. Fayette loved singing with her church choir. She also toured with a group called the Intermezzo Choir Ministry.
