Faysal Ahmed, born on July 11, 1990, is an actor from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a Somali-American known for his roles in movies and TV shows.

Early life
Faysal Ahmed was born in Yemen in 1990. He was one of nine children. His family originally came from Somalia. When he was 9 years old, in 1999, he moved to the United States. He came with his mother and some of his brothers and sisters.
Career
Before becoming a full-time actor, Faysal worked with young people. He helped with plays and poetry at the Bedlam Theater in Minneapolis.
In 2013, Faysal got a big acting role. He was in the movie Captain Phillips. In this film, he played a character named Najee.
Faysal and three other actors were chosen for the movie from over 700 people. They went to an audition in Minneapolis in 2011. The casting director, Debbie DeLisi, said they were picked because they really stood out.
In early 2014, Faysal shared that he was moving to Los Angeles. He wanted to keep acting and grow his career there. In 2016, he acted in a movie called A Stray. It was directed by Musa Syeed.
Faysal later worked again with Barkhad Abdi, who was also in Captain Phillips. They both appeared in the second season of the TV show Castle Rock. Faysal was in six episodes of the show.
