Felicity Askew was born in Chelsea, a part of London. Her parents were John Bertram Askew and Frederica Louisa Dallas. Her grandfather was Lt.-Col. George Dallas.

Her Art Training

Felicity learned her art skills from several great teachers. She studied with William Frank Calderon, Max Kruse, and Ernesto Bazzaro. These teachers helped her become a skilled painter and sculptor.

What She Created

Felicity became well-known for her paintings and bronze sculptures. She mostly created art about horses and sports. Her artwork was shown in many places around the world. She exhibited her pieces in London, at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, and in Paris. In 1926, she showed her work at the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris. Her art was also displayed in Germany, Italy, and the United States.

Her most famous artwork is a bronze sculpture called Companions of Labour. This piece shows a group of horses and was made in 1926.

Where She Lived

For many years, Felicity lived in Newmarket in Suffolk, England. Later, in the 1920s, she moved to Berwick upon Tweed. From Berwick, she continued to show her art in galleries across northern England and Scotland.

It seems that in the 1950s, Felicity changed her career. She stopped making art and started acting instead.
