The Felton Covered Bridge is a really cool old bridge in Felton, Santa Cruz County, California. It crosses the San Lorenzo River. This bridge was built way back in 1892. It's special because it's thought to be the tallest covered bridge in the whole United States.
For 45 years, this bridge was the main way to get into Felton. Today, cars don't use it anymore. But you can still visit it! It's now part of the Felton Covered Bridge Park, where people can walk across it.

Bridge History
Building the Bridge
The Felton Covered Bridge was finished in 1892. It was built using a special design called a Brown truss. This design helps make the bridge very strong. The bridge is about 80 feet long.
A Historic Landmark
Because of its age and unique design, the bridge is very important. In 1957, it became a California Historical Landmark. This means it's a special place in California's history. Later, in 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a list of important historic sites across the United States.
Repairs and Restoration
The bridge has stood for a long time. In the winter of 1982, strong storms damaged it. But don't worry! The bridge got a big repair in 1987. This restoration helped make sure the bridge would last for many more years.
