Femmon was once a small place, or "settlement," in Madera County, California. A settlement is a place where people live, like a village or a small town. Today, Femmon is no longer an active community. It is known as a "former settlement."

Femmon was located about 3 miles (5 kilometers) north of a town called Ahwahnee. This area is in the central part of California.
Why Was It Called Femmon?
The name "Femmon" came from a person named Frank Femmon. He was known for growing a special kind of apple. This apple was so good that it won a prize!
A Brief History of Femmon
For a short time in 1912, Femmon even had its own post office. A post office is where people send and receive mail. However, the post office did not stay in Femmon for long. It was later moved to a nearby place called Nipinnawasee.
