Fernando Aramburu (born in San Sebastián, Spain, in 1959) is a well-known Spanish writer. He wrote the famous novel Patria (which means "Homeland" in English). About Fernando Aramburu
Fernando Aramburu was born in the city of San Sebastián, Spain. He studied Spanish Philology at the University of Zaragoza. This means he learned a lot about the Spanish language and its literature. Since 1985, he has lived and worked in Germany. There, he teaches the Spanish language to students.
His Journey as a Writer
Fernando Aramburu started writing many years ago. His 2006 novel, Fuegos con limón (Fires with Lemon), shares stories from his youth. He was part of a creative group called Grupo CLOC de Arte y Desarte. This group published a magazine between 1978 and 1981.
He has won several major awards for his writing. In 2011, he received the Premio Tusquets de Novela for his novel Años lentos (Slow Years). Later, in 2015, he won the Premio Biblioteca Breve for his book Ávidas pretensiones (Avid Pretensions).
