Fernando San Emeterio Lara (born on January 1, 1984) is a Spanish professional basketball coach and former player. He used to play as a small forward or shooting guard. Fernando is now an assistant coach for Valencia. This team plays in the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague.

In 2011, he was chosen for the All-EuroLeague First Team. This means he was one of the best players in Europe that year. He was also named the ACB MVP in the same year. This award goes to the most valuable player in the Spanish league.

Fernando's Basketball Journey

Fernando San Emeterio started his professional basketball career in the 2001–02 season. His first team was Valladolid. He played there for five years.

In 2006, he joined Girona. After two years, in 2008, he moved to Baskonia. He played for Baskonia for seven seasons. In 2011, he was named the ACB MVP. This was a huge honor for him. He signed a new contract with Baskonia that year.

On July 8, 2015, Fernando joined Valencia Basket. He played for Valencia for six years. He signed another contract with them in 2020.

Retirement from Playing

On July 1, 2021, Fernando San Emeterio announced he was stopping his career as a professional basketball player. He had played for 20 years.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing, Fernando started a new role. He became an assistant coach for Valencia Basket. This is the same team he played for last. He helps coach the team in the Spanish Liga ACB.

Fernando also played for the Spanish national team. He won several medals with his country.
