The Ferris Mountains are a cool, small mountain range found in Carbon County, Wyoming, in the United States. They're super easy to spot because of a long, white cliff that runs along their south side, almost like a giant white wall! You can see this amazing cliff really well from U.S. Route 287. The tallest point in the range is called Ferris Peak, which reaches an impressive height of 10,037 feet (3,059 m) (that's over 3 kilometers!). This peak stands about 3,000 feet (910 m) higher than the flat valley around it and is even the highest point in the whole Great Divide Basin. Most of these mountains are part of a special area managed by the BLM called a Wilderness Study Area, which helps protect their natural beauty.

What Makes the Ferris Mountains Special?
