The Wine Estate
Finca Élez was started by Manuel Manzaneque. It has about 40 hectares (that's about 100 acres) of land where grapevines grow.
Grape Varieties
They grow several types of grapes here. These include chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, tempranillo, and syrah. Each grape type adds its own unique flavor to the wine.
Winery Location
The winery building is right next to the vineyards. It sits high up, at 1,080 meters (about 3,543 feet) above sea level. This high spot is in the Sierra de Alcaraz mountain range.
Climate and Weather
The weather at Finca Élez is called "continental." This means it has very hot and dry summers. The winters are cold. There are also big differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. This change helps the grapes ripen well.
Soil Types
The ground where the grapes grow is mostly a mix of clay and sand. You can also find other things in the soil. These include lime, marls (a type of clay and calcium mix), and reddish-brown clays. Different soils can affect how the grapes taste.

Each year, Finca Élez makes a lot of wine. They produce around 200,000 bottles of wine annually.
