First Federal Plaza is a very tall building, also known as a high-rise, located in Rochester, New York. It stands at 309 feet (94 meters) and has 21 floors. This makes it the fifth tallest building in the city! It was finished in 1976. A fun fact: a 9-year-old boy named Levon Jones won a contest in 1972 with a design concept that some say inspired the building's look.

The Revolving Restaurant

The building is famous for its round top. This part used to be a special revolving restaurant called Changing Scene. It was a big restaurant, about 7,000 square feet (650 square meters)! Imagine eating while the room slowly turns, giving you amazing views of the city.

The restaurant closed in 1990. After that, the spinning parts were taken out. The space was later used by a local attorney.

Location and What's Inside

First Federal Plaza is located right in the city center at 28 East Main Street. It's a busy place!

Today, the building is home to the studios for several radio stations. These include WFKL, WZNE, and WRMM-FM. So, many of the songs and shows you hear on these stations come from inside this building! WZNE and WRMM-FM also have backup transmitters on the very top of the building.

Community Use

The building is also used for a special event called "21 Stories for Scouts." This is an annual fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America. People get to rappel, or climb down, the side of the building to raise money for a good cause. It sounds like an exciting adventure!
